Redditvision Song Contest Special Edition
The Special Editions are a spin off of Redditvision Song Contest and happen every 10 editions. The first special edition started in August 2017.
Explanation
In the announcement by u/RedditvisionMod on Reddit in August 2017 it was explained that the Special editions are a celebration of Redditvision Song Contest and it's growth. Every 10 editions there will be a Special edition.
Each special edition has a theme, which makes them easy to distinguish from normal editions. The theme makes them unique compared to an ordinary edition and has "SE" in front of the edition number. The same rules are applied to special edition with the exception of said themes.
Themes are submitted by users and then the suggestions are randomised to give us the new theme. After the theme is chosen all song submissions must follow the theme.
Hosting of special editions are not done by those that won the edition prior to a special edition. Instead it's done by the user that won 10 editions prior in the last special edition. This gives the long pause of 10 editions between winning and hosting an edition.
The first special edition was hosted by the mods and the second special edition was hosted by the runner-up and second runner-up since the winner of SE1, u/geogaymer, didn't sign up for SE2. This made SE2 the first edition in RSC history to have two hosts that co-hosted.
